On a wet wintery day, we had a whale of a time transforming a countryside lodge in Lincolnshire into a summer retreat filled with Sophie Allport’s new Whales Collection. We step behind the scenes to see what the team got up to. Can you spot the signs of winter in our behind the scene shots?
Rain rain go away! The weather is making things a little bit harder, Lucy, our photographer, wipes away the raindrops on the windows. It’s a hard job making a miserable winters day look gloriously summery.
Before we can even think about taking any photos we need to get the new products ready, it’s the little errands like ironing that take up a lot of time on a shoot. We must admit using the new whales ironing board cover is making it that little more pleasing.
As well as setting up our products, the team get stuck into making some too and here we are making a beautiful blind out of our whales fabric by the metre.
The tricky thing about shoots is that sometimes you need to improvise and when you can't drill holes into the wall for your blinds, you need someone to hold them in place. “Ermmm a bit more to the left, oops no I meant my left”.
It was the festive season after all and we were whaley excited about that! It felt very strange doing a summery photoshoot with a Christmas tree in the room.
Moving on, we begin to set the table, test all the lighting and begin to shoot this beautiful new coastal collection. Take a peek at some of the final shots below.
A kitchen that summer dreams are made of!
These beautiful kitchen linens certainly make cooking for the family a whole lot better.
Whale, whale, whale... that’s all for behind the scenes of our whale photoshoot, but if you loved seeing the new design, then check out the collection here! You can also read all about the whales on Sophie’s new design and learn more about these magical marine animals on our blog.
