We’re celebrating 15 years of Sophie Allport! From what started in a spare bedroom to becoming a renowned homewares and lifestyle brand with two Sophie Allport shops in Lincolnshire, stockists worldwide, and that’s not to mention all our lovely customers who visit us online – it’s safe to say we’ve come quite far! Did you know there have been over 90 Sophie Allport designs over the past 15 years? To celebrate we’re looking back at some of our much loved original collections!
Busy Bees
We’re starting with a classic. Sophie’s Busy Bees design was one of her first fabric collections (launched in 2008) and featured buzzing bumblebees on a white ground. It was actually her three boys that inspired this first design. Growing up, they were obsessed with insects, and that’s where Sophie’s Busy Bee, Ladybird and Butterfly designs first started. She did a few sketches for her boys, and it took off from there. This design inspired Sophie’s much loved and popular Bees collection, which has 250 products from her popular fine bone china and cosy bedding to bee-autiful clothing and stunning jewellery!
Gingerbread Men & Cupcakes
A blast from the past. We’re sure some of our Sophie Allport customers who have been with us for years will remember this adorable design, which takes us all back. Featuring lots of tasty cupcakes and gingerbread men on a light pink background! This cute design was perfect for when baking lots of lovely treats and featured on many linens, including a duffle bag, shoulder bag and a jam jar cover!
Robin
A wintery design with a touch of blue! This was the original Robin design which then went on to inspire Sophie’s Robin & Mistletoe Christmas collection, which was popular for many years! Our lovely table settings have come a long way over the years too!
Strawberries & Cream
This Strawberries & Cream design was as sweet as these scones and perfect for a stylish British summer! This lovely design featured on many fabrics and fine bone china products and even included a table cloth, heat stand and tea cosy! If you loved this design then keep your eyes peeled for something new coming soon!
The Good Life
Dotted with cake, teapots, casserole dishes for homemade cooking, insects and birds, this early Sophie Allport design really captured the good life with all the simple things we love – we still love all the same things, especially cake, tea, and of course the great outdoors!
Sailing Boats
Fresh and fun Sophie’s Sailing Boats was her first coastal-inspired design, inspired by her love for the North Norfolk coastline, which boasts big open skies and beaches! You’d even spot the odd pirate flag of a skull and bones for a playful touch. Sophie’s coastal designs now include her lovely Whales, Coastal Birds and Lobster & Crab designs.
Butterfly
Sophie’s original Butterfly design featured dainty blue butterflies and was a sweet design that added a touch of spring-summer to the home. It was inspired by the butterflies fluttering in Sophie’s country garden! The collection was relaunched in recent years, allowing for a more colourful design to add a fun and playful feel.
