Dining Outdoors – Al Fresco Moments To Savour

There’s something truly special about eating al fresco - the slower pace, the sunshine, the gentle clink of glasses. Whether it’s a casual lunch with family or an evening gathering with friends, creating a beautiful setting makes every meal feel like an occasion.

The art of tablescaping
Start with a base, perhaps a soft linen gingham tablecloth or floral runner. Then layer with white plates, glassware, and napkins in complementary tones. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns, think delicate florals for spring summer or autumnal colours for later in the year. Wooden serving boards, little bowls for olives, and jugs of iced water with lemon slices finish the look.

Flourish with florals and lighting
Bring the garden to the table with simple bud vases filled with seasonal stems - wildflowers, herbs or even sprigs of rosemary. Not only do they look beautiful, but they add subtle, natural fragrance too. As the sun sets, soft lighting is key. String up festoon lights or dot the table with lamps and candles to create that perfect golden-hour glow.

Something to serve
With a pantry unit that has a built in fridge, you can always have something on hand to serve, keep it stocked with fresh fruit, leafy green salads, or tasty nibbles. Keep a few bottles of your favourite fizz chilled too for those extra special moments.

Dining outdoors is all about connection - great food, a beautiful space, and the best company.
