We caught up with the lovely team at The Hollies Farm Shop, who are our Stockist of the month for December! Read all about their love for Christmas and their beautiful farm shop which is nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.
Tell us a little bit about your shop...
The Hollies Farm Shop in Cheshire began life back in 1959 as a roadside honesty box, offering homegrown produce to local residents. Over 60 years later, the family-run business now incorporates award-winning farm shops, butcheries, a delicatessen, gift barns, a lifestyle shop, a takeaway and self-catering forest lodge accommodation across two sites in the heart of Cheshire. The Barn at The Hollies offers beautiful products for your lifestyle, home and the most amazingly unique gifts. Christmas is simply the BEST time of year at The Hollies, and each year The Hollies Christmas instills that fabulous festive feeling into all that visit.
What do you love about being a shop owner?
Every day is different. We have an amazing team around us, and it is inspiring every day to work alongside our team. The nature of a small business means that each individual team member has a vital role and the ability to make change, whether it be finding a new supplier, creating a new display or choosing each seasons stock from our wonderful suppliers.

We don’t kiss and tell ;-)

Tell us a little bit about the place you are located…
The Hollies Farm Shop is nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Cheshire has a wealth of fabulous attractions, landscapes, accommodation, food producers, creatives and more, and we are lucky to have our base in such a vibrant destination. We pride ourselves on supporting over 75 local suppliers within our farm shops and gift areas, which are complemented with more amazing products from the UK and further afield.
Your favourite time of year in the shop?
Christmas is our favourite season. For us, Christmas begins in January with the first of our buying trips, and we are constantly on the lookout for fabulous products to make each Christmas even better than the last. When deliveries start arriving in September, we love unpacking them and planning our displays! We like to go big at Christmas with our displays, pop up shops, events (although not many of those this year with the pandemic!) – every area at The Hollies gets the Christmas treatment!
What Sophie Allport products and collections are your favourites?
We love it all, but if we had to pick, our highlights would be the double oven gloves, the socks and the Bees collection. We absolutely adore the Home for Christmas collection too, especially as it has become so apt this year. Each year we excitedly await the new Christmas collection reveal, and this year’s Partridge in a Pear Tree certainly didn’t disappoint.
