Make Your Own Fairground Memories At Home

We've just launched our new Fairground Ponies range, and it's bringing back memories of family days out at the fair, so we have put a little plan together, where you can make your own fairground memories at home. From crafting carousels to watching The Greatest Showman.

Fairground at home with Sophie Allport - Knitwear Jumper in a sweet pink colour

  1. Spend the morning crafting with the kids. You can make a merry go round using paper plates and bowls, kitchen roll tubes, straws, cardboard, glue and of course lots of pens and pencils for colouring in. Here’s how: Paper Plate Carousel. If you don't have any of those, then perhaps your kids could draw their version of our new Fairground Ponies design.

  2. After a morning of crafting it’s time for some crispy jacket potatoes for lunch, topped with your favourite fillings. Heat your oven to 220C/300C fan/gas 7. Rub a splash of oil into each potato and season with a sprinkle of salt and pepper, this will help get that crispy skin. Bake in the oven on the top shelf for 20 minutes, then turn the heat of your oven down to 190C/170C fan /gas 5 for the remaining 45 minutes or until soft and fluffy in the centre. Top with baked beans, cheese, prawn mayonnaise or whatever your heart desires and serve with a fresh side salad.

  3. An afternoon watching The Greatest Showman! With a full tummy, the whole family can sit down in the living room, and enjoy a movie afternoon watching The Greatest Showman, which is sure to keep everyone entertained and feeling inspired.

  4. Make your very own indulgent food. We love this homemade candy floss recipe or why not have a picnic in the garden and get the kids to help out with making little sandwiches, baking cookies or making a cake.

  5. Wrap up warm in the evening and stargaze. Toast marshmallows around the firepit, tuck into your garden picnic or indulge in your homemade candyfloss looking out for shooting stars, but remember to make a wish if you spot one.
