What are customers asking about Sophie Allport bespoke blinds?
What types of blinds should I choose for my windows?
The great thing about made-to-measure bespoke blinds is that you can customise your blinds for the perfect fit. We have a choice of roller blinds or roman blinds, and both will add a splash of colour or style to the home and brighten up your windows. Roller blinds are made from a waterproof fabric and are ideal for using in bathrooms, kitchens, and any room where there is moisture in the air. Roman blinds have a beautiful premium feel and stack or cascade as they are pulled up. With our Roman blinds, you can choose to add a thermal lining, which will help prevent draughts from entering the room and heat from escaping, this is perfect for winter. The thermal lining also works excellently in the summer months and helps to block out the sun and keep rooms cool. For the perfect fit, read our guide on measuring blinds.
Does Sophie Allport offer a bespoke made-to-measure blinds service?
Yes, Sophie Allport offers bespoke blinds that are made-to-measure. You can choose from either roman blinds or roller blinds in a range of different styles and designs from Sophie - from her popular Bees to her spring-like Sheep. The great part about bespoke blinds is that you can choose the right style to suit your room, which includes fitting type, fabric, header style, pull cord chain and bottom bar. All of our bespoke blinds are made to measure to the dimensions provided at the time of order, so we always recommend double-checking your measurements.
How should I clean my blinds?
Roman blinds can be dry cleaned. Simply remove all horizontal rods and the bottom bar before dry cleaning. Roman blinds may have creases due to the packaging process, but this should disappear over time. If the creases do not fall out over time, we recommend using a steamer to ensure they look their best. Be cautious not to use excessive pressure as this may distort the fabric.
All roller blind material can be gently cleaned with a sponge. They are the perfect choice of blind for a kitchen or bathroom, as they are available in a waterproof finish which is moisture resistant.
What are the benefits of bespoke blinds?
Blinds are a great way to add a splash of colour or style to your home interior and are sure to brighten up any window. Not only do they look good, but they can be more practical for those with a small space and can often be easier to clean.
Choosing a roman blind with thermal lining will ensure the room is insulated to a high standard. This type of lining is energy efficient and will prevent draughts from entering the room or air leaving the room, allowing you to trap in the heat. Thermal lining can also be a great benefit during the summer months, helping to block out the sun and keep your rooms cool.
Roller blinds have added benefits throughout the different seasons too. We have three linings to choose from, including blackout. Due to its thickness, our blackout fabric can have thermal properties, perfect for keeping your house warm during autumn and winter and cooler in the summer months. The blackout properties also allow you to achieve total light control, which is perfect for keeping out the early sunrises, excellent for children napping during the day, or practical for those who work night shifts.
Meanwhile, our waterproof fabric for our roller blinds is ideal for using in bathrooms, kitchens or any room where there is moisture in the air. It has blackout properties for great privacy and can be easily wiped clean. We have a wide range of made to measure blinds and ready-made blinds in a selection of Sophie's popular designs with lots to choose from for children's bedrooms too.
