Choosing a personalised tote bag
Cotton, linen or quilted
Most of the range is 100% cotton. The everyday totes, including Wild Floral, Coastal Boats, Spring Cottage, Tails & Trails and Snowy Village, measure H 46 x W 52 x D 19cm with 31cm handles. For something bigger, the Lobster Linen Tote Bag is extra large at H 45 x W 64 x D 15cm, made from 100% linen in Witham Stripe with an embroidered blue lobster. The Sunflower Linen Tote Bag is the same size in an 80% linen, 20% cotton blend, with an embroidered sunflower on a sand stripe.
Frill and reversible styles
The frill totes are slimmer, at H 50 x W 45 x D 2cm. The Garden Floral Frill Tote Bag has hand-illustrated blooms on a soft pale green background. The Vintage Rose Frill Tote Bag and the Chocolate Brown Gingham Frill Linen Tote Bag both close with a popper and have a striped ticking cotton lining. The quilted Autumn Forage and Orchard Birds reversible totes measure H 34 x W 44 x D 21.5cm with 58cm handles, with a classic stripe on the reverse, so you get two looks in one bag.
How the personalisation works
Every bag on this page can be personalised. Most take up to 15 characters including spaces, which is room for a first name or a short message. The two quilted reversible totes take up to 3 characters, so they suit initials. Lettering colours are chosen to suit each design: blue or navy for Lobster and Coastal Boats, gold or khaki for Sunflower and Tails & Trails, khaki or red for Snowy Village. You select your colour on the product page, where the personalisation price is also shown. A bag with a name on it makes a thoughtful gift for a teacher, a friend or a keen gardener.

Frequently asked questions
Most of our tote bags take a name, initials or short message of up to 15 characters including spaces. The Autumn Forage and Orchard Birds quilted reversible totes take up to 3 characters, so they suit initials. Emojis can't be used. Each product page shows the lettering colours available for that design.
Every bag on this page can be washed at 30 degrees. Don't tumble dry or dry clean them. The Lobster and Sunflower linen totes can be ironed on a medium setting and shouldn't be bleached. Linen softens over time, and the descriptions note that patterns may vary slightly from bag to bag.
The Lobster Linen Tote Bag and the Sunflower Linen Tote Bag are our extra large styles, at H 45 x W 64 x D 15cm. The cotton everyday totes measure H 46 x W 52 x D 19cm, and the quilted reversible totes are deeper at 21.5cm, with longer 58cm handles for carrying over your shoulder.
Standard UK delivery aims for 3 to 6 working days. Next Day and Saturday delivery are available when you order before 12 noon, and we also deliver internationally. You'll find our full delivery terms in the Sophie Allport help centre.
