This year we are supporting three remarkable charities with our Sophie Allport Christmas cards. They are perfect for sending to your loved ones at Christmas time or even using as thank you cards after the big day. They all have fun Sophie Allport designs, and most importantly, 50% of net sales go directly to each charity, supporting great causes whilst spreading Christmas cheer! Read on to find out more about each charity.
Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation
Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation merged in 2020 and are the only UK charity providing direct support to those affected by a lung condition, whilst also innovating the cures of the future.
COVID-19 has shone a light on the nation’s lung health and our breathing like never before, and Asthma UK and the BLF are determined to build on this awareness to tackle the issues that threaten our nations’ lungs. The scale of the problem is huge; in fact, one in five of us will develop a lung condition in our lifetime. From asthma to COPD, lung disease is the UK’s third-biggest cause of death, with someone losing their life to a lung condition every 5 minutes.
We are delighted to be partnering with Asthma UK and the BLF this festive season to help make a difference to the lives of people living with a lung condition. By purchasing a pack of our beautiful Festive Forest Christmas Cards, you will be helping us to continue to fund vital research, provide expert advice and campaign for cleaner air and better care for those who really need it.
British Hen Welfare Trust
The British Hen Welfare Trust is the country’s first dedicated chicken charity, which was set up in 2005 and has rehomed over 850,000 commercial laying hens, which have been saved from slaughter and found forever homes, thanks to this incredible charity.
The BHWT believe that all laying hens deserve to enjoy a natural lifestyle which includes space to roam on an open pasture, enjoyment of fresh air and sunshine, the ability to scratch for insects and the opportunity to lay an egg in a nest. In 2016 BHWT Founder, Jane Howorth, received an MBE for her tireless work raising awareness of commercial laying hens helping to bring about the ban on battery cages in 2012.
We are so pleased once again to be working alongside the BHWT, as some of you know, Sophie’s a hen keeper herself, and we are so pleased to be supporting the vital work they do to rehome hens all around the country. By purchasing our Chickens Christmas cards, you’ll be helping the charity with its rehoming work and giving hens the chance to enjoy a free-range future.
Wild At Heart Foundation
The Wild at Heart Foundation believes in dog. They believe that a dog can lift our mood, change our day, keep us active and transform a house into a home. They are our fierce protectors, guard us and perform heroic feats. They offer freely what humans can spend a lifetime learning, which is to love unconditionally. They save our lives in many ways. This is why Wild at Heart Foundation wants to end the suffering of these amazing creatures.
The Wild at Heart Foundation wants to end the suffering of stray dogs all over the world. They believe that each and every rescue dog deserves the chance to live a healthy, happy life, free from the threat of pain, suffering, cruelty or neglect. Their mission is to work compassionately to reduce the world’s 600 million stray dog population. They do this through rescue, adoption and sterilisation projects, as well as awareness and education campaigns.
As most of you know, at Sophie Allport, we adore dogs, and we are so delighted to be working alongside the Wild at Heart Foundation. Our Christmas Dogs Christmas Cards have been so popular so far and we're so pleased that we are able to help raise funds for the Wild at Heart Foundation, which will help, save and rescue dogs in need from the rising ride of cruelty, abuse and neglect.
