We cannot believe it has been over three years since we opened the doors to the Sophie Allport Stamford shop, time does fly by and we have missed seeing our customers over the past few months. Our pretty high street shop will be reopening on the 1st of July, and we have spent the past month refurbishing it and making it safe to welcome back our customers and staff.
We have got a few behind the scenes photographs of the refurbishment to share exclusively with you.
It is out with the products and in with the paintbrushes. The team spend some time moving ALL the products out of the shop, to make room for paint rollers, building tools and Perspex screens.
Have you ever visited Stamford? The architecture is outstanding, it was actually the first conservation area to be designated in England and Wales in 1967. If you are visiting this pretty town, be sure to pop in and say hi, you’ll find us on the picturesque high street.
Both the upstairs and downstairs are getting a complete refresh which includes repainting, new shelves and we’re moving it all around so there is extra room for people to follow social distancing guidelines and browse our range of homewares and accessories.
If you’ve visited the Stamford shop previously then you’ll notice a few other changes like our till has been relocated. If you plan to visit either of our Stamford or Bourne shops, read how we are keeping our customers and staff safe here.
The till looks great in its new position and we’re ready to install the Perspex screen. It was always in the plan to refurbish the Stamford shop for summer 2020, however, with COVID-19 we’ve had a few important things to think about including hand sanitising stations, space for people to be able to socially distance, installing Perspex screens and looking at ways we can keep our customers and staff safe.
Upstairs the painting is coming along nicely, don’t you just want to sit at these windows and watch the world go by?
Even the floor has had a makeover. Once all the paint has dried, it’s time to get all the furniture back in and dress the shop. Take a look at the before and after shots below!

Don’t worry if you’re not in the Stamford area, our Bourne shop which offers free parking and an outlet area with 50% off will also be open from the 1st July or you can shop our ranges online.
