Behind The Scenes Of Our Christmas Photoshoot

Step behind the scenes of the Sophie Allport Christmas photoshoot to see how we capture those festive photos, bringing our new collections to life. Despite always being very busy, our photoshoots are also great fun. It's a chance for us to pull our new collections together after months of designing, sampling and decision making! On a sunny day in June, we began to decorate a Christmas tree, bake mince pies and get the festive scenes set. Sophie started with the flowers and foliage prep to ensure the floral table displays added to the ambience. 

Starting off with the Skiing collection, props were unearthed and fondus were lit to create an Alpine living scene. The small details are worth their time - preparing then arranging the food and tying ribbons 'just so' across the napkins! Each finishing touch helps create a wonderful winter table setting.

We set the winter skiing scene on Sophie's dining table, with the British summer sun streaming through the windows behind us.

Whilst kicking off her shoes, the photographer starts her acrobatic balancing act in order to get the perfect overhead shots.

With the idyllic Skiing tableware photographs done, we move onto a traditional festive scene with our new Christmas range. The Holly & Berry collection is displayed beautifully on a sideboard, after hours of wrapping the perfect presents! Candles are lit and sparkly accessories are displayed to capture that magical festive mood. The photographer is challenged with the mirror, to ensure none of the team are captured behind the scenes!

Onto the all-important festive table setting - placemats, table runners and napkins are carefully positioned with candles, crackers and tea light holders dotted amongst Christmas tableware.

The team pause to review the shots, followed by a quick cuppa and mince pie. Is June too early to enjoy a festive favourite? 

Main course and pudding have been shot. Now it's time for cheese! With the Christmas Stilton sliced and the quince jelly decanted, our photographer snaps away to capture the cheese course.
