Chelsea Flower Show is always an exciting and fun time for us, and we’re so pleased to be back here during Spring, surrounded by all the incredible gardens that look blooming beautiful! This year we have an exclusive Chelsea Flower Show Fine Bone China Mug and Tea Towel designed by Sophie to celebrate the occasion.
Each year thousands of people arrive at the Royal Hospital Chelsea to enjoy the incredible garden designs and vibrant flower displays, with 168,000 people expected throughout the week. We're taking a little look behind the scenes at the Sophie Allport stand as well as taking a little peek at the famous faces who popped by to say hello on Press Day.
Watching landscape designers and garden designers create magnificent masterpieces is always extraordinary, with their sets built from scratch on-site. It’s amazing to see the incredible designs come together, including ours. From pitched up show stands to pop up stalls and shops, there’s a lot of hard work that goes on before opening day!
The Sophie Allport team arrived with ladders, drills, and team spirit in hand, ready for a day of construction. Assembling panelling, signs, lights, and the shop till is first up on the agender. Above we have none other than Jem Allport (Sophie’s brother) getting straight into it and hanging up the all important Sophie Allport sign!
Once the structure is done, it’s time to work on putting up shelves, crates and display cabinets ready for Sophie’s bee-autiful designs to fill the room!
With shelving up and all of our stock arriving on time, we can start to unload boxes and set up the stand ready for Press Day. Look at all those boxes!
This year we have two products taking centre stage on the stand, Sophie’s 2022 Chelsea Flower Show Mug and 2022 Chelsea Flower Show Tea Towel, both of which feature illustrations of beautiful irises in a row, a magnificent sculpture and a pathway that leads through to the pavilion behind. Dragonflies, butterflies, and bumblebees dance through the sky, whilst the spectacular London parakeets sit proudly on the treetops. Dressed in iconic scarlets, cheerful Chelsea Pensioners enjoy the relaxed ambience of the tranquil grounds.
