A story that dates back over 50 years, Griggs, situated in heart of Cornwall, is our Stockist of the Month for October! We caught up with the team to take a trip down memory lane and read all about their wonderful shop.
Tell us a little bit about your shop…
The M.A.Grigg story started 52 years ago in 1970 when Michael Grigg started distributing animal health products to local farms while managing his own farm. In 1975 Michael, alongside his late wife Ann, purchased Pendennis Farm, where Griggs is still located today. The farm's pig shed was the first building to be turned into a store selling agricultural items. In 1979 things had grown, and we built the first section of the store you see today.
Over the years, we have continued to grow, in 2012 we opened our own restaurant on the Pendennis site where we are proud to use fresh locally sourced ingredients, including produce from Michael’s own farm. Today there are three generations working in the business, and we are excited about the future.
We have a variety of departments, including home & garden, equestrian, pet and lifestyle and outdoor clothing & footwear. We stock premium brands including Barbour, Joules, Hunter, Dubarry, Birkenstocks and many more.
What do you love about being a shop owner?
We get excited each season for the shop to get filled with all the lovely new stock!

Griggs is located in the heart of Cornwall just outside of St Austell, we are in the countryside but only 15 minutes from the beach.. what more could you wish for!
Your favourite time of year in the shop?
Christmas, it's such a magical time for everyone!
What first attracted you to Sophie Allport products?
At Griggs, we love the countryside and animal prints coming from an agricultural background, and of course all the products are beautiful!
