The Robin, although this highly recognisable bird can be seen all year round, it is widely associated with the Christmas season. However, you may be asking, why? Victorian Postmen wore red uniforms, back in the 1900s, and soon gained the nickname of “robin redbreast”. During the Christmas season, people would look forward to receiving cards from loved ones delivered by their local “robin”. The association with the bird soon took off and the Robin soon became the Christmas icon we know and love today.
