Easter is one of our favourite times of the year, with flowers blooming and the sun shining, whilst hot cross buns and chocolate eggs are everywhere in sight. Our Easter photoshoot was no exception, although held a couple of months earlier meant our perfect spring weather included a lot of wind and even a dash of snow on the final day.
We were super excited to meet the lovely @laurahomeandlifestyle. Laura opened her beautiful home to us for our Easter shoot – it was an absolute delight to style her home with all of our Sophie Allport spring and Easter designs. Let’s take a look behind the scenes…

First on the agenda was to get into the crafty spirit for our table decorations. Here we’re using rolls of dried moss to cover these wooden log slices to create majestic woodland Easter decorations. Topped with painted eggs filled with garden flowers and our felt decorations for the finishing touch! The plan was to initially do this particular table setting outside, however, the wind had other ideas.

Luckily it was February, so some spring flowers had already started to bloom. We had lots of beautiful tulips and potted daffodils to hand, they are perfect for any spring setting and paired with our spring faux flowers and decorations, they make delightful centrepieces.

Laura’s glass cabinet meant we were spoilt for choice when it came to choosing fancy glasses for each table setting. We had lots of different settings to style, and this came in handy for mixing it up for each one.

A true snapshot of what behind the scenes actually looks like, beyond the beautiful table settings are usually stacks of boxes full of all the stock needed for the different shots.

We love creating fun napkins with our different prints. These bunny ear napkins are super easy and ever so effective for spring. Follow the steps below for an eggcellent setting - we finished ours with a personalised egg for the place names.

And whilst we were busy working, Laura’s adorable dog Berty was testing our comfy pet mattresses. We think it’s safe to say they passed the daytime snoozing test!

Photoshoots aren’t just about making a pretty table setting, there are so many other factors to think about on the day. One of those is lighting, the light needs to be perfect, and with early sunsets in February, we’ve found ourselves racing against the clock, trying to capture the perfect lighting, especially for some video footage.

Doesn’t this tablescape look absolutely beautiful? It’s the perfect spring set up, laid with Easter cracker napkins, hot cross buns and spring faux flowers. Discover our Runner Duck design and create it yourself at home.

And just like that, three full days at Laura’s lovely home was over, and we were all ‘Easter-ed’ out. Want to take a quick look at some of the final shots? Take a peek below…

Of course, we had to finish off with the lovely Berty! Have you been inspired to decorate this Easter? We'd love to hear what your favourite Sophie Allport spring design is. Let us know in the comments below.
