Choosing oven gloves
Double oven gloves
Our double oven gloves measure around L 84 x W 18cm and are made from 100% cotton. The reverse of the glove and the inside of each hand pocket have a polyester thermal layer for extra protection, and a loop in the middle lets you hang them up by the cooker. They are the one to reach for when lifting a heavy casserole or roasting tin with both hands. Choose from country designs such as Hare, Pheasant, Highland Stag, Chicken, Sheep and Bees, dog designs Woof, Fetch and Doggy Daycare, or Wild Floral, Garden Vegetables, Hedgehogs and Coastal Boats.
Oven mitts
Our oven mitts measure H 31 x W 17cm, with a soft terry towelling lining and a hanging loop. Several, including Hedgehogs, Woodland Friends, Wild Floral, Garden Vegetables and Tulips, also have a polyester thermal layer. A mitt suits one-handed jobs like moving a baking tray. The Olive and Sunflower mitts are made from linen, and the matching double oven gloves come in linen too.
Pot grabs
Our pot grabs, sometimes called pot holders, are 20 x 20cm squares of 100% cotton with an internal polyester thermal lining. They are handy for lifting pan handles and lids or carrying a hot dish to the table, and come in designs such as Bees, Sheep, Purrfect, Lobster and Fetch.
Care and matching pieces
Our double oven gloves, mitts and pot grabs can all be washed at 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry or dry clean them, and iron gloves and mitts on a medium setting. Many designs match the rest of our kitchen range, so pair your gloves with our cotton tea towels, a cooking apron or a hob cover or chef pad. For the festive kitchen, see our Christmas oven gloves.
Frequently asked questions
A double oven glove is a long 84cm glove with a pocket for each hand, ideal for heavy dishes. An oven mitt is a single 31cm mitt with a terry towelling lining for one-handed jobs. A pot grab is a padded 20cm square for gripping pan handles, lids and hot dishes.
Yes. Our double oven gloves, oven mitts and pot grabs can all be washed at 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry or dry clean them, and do not bleach the gloves and mitts. Iron double oven gloves and mitts on a medium setting. Patterns may vary slightly as each is cut from patterned fabric.
Most are 100% cotton. Double oven gloves have a polyester thermal layer on the reverse and inside each hand pocket, mitts have a terry towelling lining, and pot grabs have an internal polyester thermal lining. The Olive double oven glove is an 80% linen, 20% cotton blend, and the Sunflower glove and both linen mitts are 100% linen.
Yes, our double oven gloves have a loop in the middle and our oven mitts have a loop too, so you can hang them by the cooker. The Hare Pot Grab also has a hanging loop. It makes them easy to keep within reach while you cook.
They are a practical present for keen cooks and bakers. Pick a design they love, such as Purrfect for a cat lover, Fetch or Woof for a dog lover, or Chicken for a hen keeper, and add a matching tea towel or apron. For delivery options, see our help centre.
