Finding the right jug
Fine bone china jugs in four sizes
Most of our fine bone china jugs come in up to four sizes: Mini (140ml), Small (300ml), Medium (500ml) and Large (1.1 litres), standing from about 7cm to 17.5cm tall. The Mini suits a drop of cream with coffee, while the Small and Medium are ideal for milk, gravy, custard or chocolate sauce. Designs include the Hare Jug, Highland Stag with antlers on the inside rim, Pheasant, Chicken, Hearts, Bees and Lay a Little Egg, plus festive Holly & Berry, Night Owl, Starry Night, Home for Christmas, Christmas Dogs and Festive Forest. Most are hand decorated and finished in the UK, and every china jug comes in a gift box.
Stoneware jugs
Our stoneware mini jugs hold 150ml and each has a contrasting rim: ochre on Chicken, green on Hedgehogs, grey on Sheep, red on Robin and pale green on Bees, with Olive, Sunflower, Lemons, Woodland Friends, Christmas Stags and Home for Christmas too. For gravy or custard at the table, the Olive, Cosy Christmas and Christmas Puddings large stoneware jugs hold 500ml.
Jugs for water, drinks and flowers
For drinks, the Bees Stoneware Tall Jug holds 1.9 litres and the clear Glass Jug holds 1800ml. The Bees Stoneware Jug has an embossed white bee and comes in 2 litre and 4 litre sizes, as a serving jug or a vase. The large 1.1 litre china jugs make a lovely flower vase too. The White Ceramic Jug and handmade Splatter Stoneware Display Jug are decorative pieces and not food safe; the White Ceramic Jug is not water-tight, so use it with faux flowers. Care and matching pieces
The china and stoneware serving jugs are microwave and dishwasher safe. For bone china, do not overload the dishwasher and keep the water at 40 degrees or below. Hand wash the Glass Jug and the decorative jugs. Pair a milk jug with one of our teapots and a mug from our stoneware and china mugs.

Yes. The large 1.1 litre china jugs make a lovely flower vase, the 150ml stoneware mini jugs suit small flower offcuts from the garden, and the Bees Stoneware Jug is designed to work as a vase or a serving jug. The White Ceramic Jug is not water-tight, so use it with faux flowers only.
