It brings us great pleasure to introduce you to our Showroom. It is the crowning glory of Sophie Allport HQ and a fantastic extension of the delight and care we take in creating displays on stands at shows across the country.

It has also given us the wonderful opportunity to extend our offerings into Sophie Allport Favourites. These delectable items include mirrors, lamps, clocks, ornaments and furniture. All of which Sophie has handpicked and they are available for you to purchase direct.

To tie in with all the glorious rumours of Spring finally arriving, we used it as a fantastic excuse to officially launch our new Butterfly fabric to all retail customers. It was well received and appears to be a set as a refreshing counterpart to our classic Chicken range.

Though the absolute winner was our commemorative Jubilee mug. It is fair to say that London has gone Jubilee mad. Make sure you get your hands on one too, mark this momentous occasion with a touch of Sophie Allport style.

Now we’re back to the countryside to enjoy watching Spring bring our surroundings back to life, and start getting really rather excited about Easter!

In the build up to Easter we are absolutely fanatic about our Chicken range. We have recently launched our extended Fine Bone China collection, and it sits harmoniously next to the splendid neutral tones of the fabric.

This Easter is a perfect excuse for us to indulge ourselves and discuss why these particular items are bringing us joy this time of the year. So with no further ado, Ten Speckled Hens:

Chicken Egg Cup

This small but perfectly formed piece of fine bone china is a real must for any breakfast table. It leaves us all quite compelled to have a perfectly soft boiled egg each and every morning. It is also a very good way to encourage the younger generations to sit down and enjoy the most important meal of the day too.

Large Chicken Jug

Now this larger counterpart has been created for many things. The obvious is to home large bouquets of flowers, mainly daffodils for this time of year, and sit looking beautiful in your home. It is also a wonderful addition to any Breakfast feast, one of the most aesthetically pleasing jugs we have clapped eyes on.

Mini Chicken Jug

Now this heart meltingly sweet mini jug has crept into all of our homes without second of deliberation. We wish to pour the cream into our morning coffee with nothing else. It is also conveniently sized to sit perfectly on a breakfast tray. So now we not only expect breakfast in bed, but a small jug of flowers handpicked from the garden too.

Chicken Dinner Plate

Now this is in our Ten Speckled Hen list for a multitude of terribly important reasons but currently we have our eyes on it for one thing, and one thing only. Hot crossed buns. A heap. A mountain of them. Covered in butter.

Chicken Tea Cup

Now this, is an exceptionally large Tea Cup. With the capacity of 450ml, we have no option but to sit down, calm down and take a long glorious break from the chaos that life brings. No messing about here. This is for all the serious fans of gentle warming beverages out there.

Chicken Tea Pot

Tea Pots are possibly one of our all time favourite items. Sometimes nothing can be more welcoming than the traditional pot of tea cosily brewing on a table as you sit down with your friends or family to unwind, catch up, and let’s be honest, gossip. A very necessary indulgence for your home.

Chicken Table Cloth

The tablecloth. The crowning glory to the table you and your brood meet, greet and feed every day. It deserves to be treated well and decorated in a loving fashion. The neutral tones of the Chicken design provide a glorious backdrop to any meal. We’re cloaking our tables in this fabric, inspiring all egg themed meals and requests throughout the week. Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs, omelette, eggs mayonnaise and Eggs Benedict Royal for the weekend.

Chicken Child Apron

This wonderfully made 100% cotton machine washable creation is a very adorable addition to any kitchen. Not only will the little darling blessed with it look even sweeter, it may inspire some help in the kitchen! (Albeit chaotic or fleeting, perhaps both.) Dress your little chef to impress. They’ll even match the tablecloth.

Chicken Peg Bag

Spring is in the air, the buds are appearing, the daffodils are waving and the lambs are frolicking around the fields. Goodbye trusty tumble dryer. Hello authentically cotton fresh washing. The perfect excuse for us to get our hands on this exceedingly practical but exceptionally stunning peg bag.

Egg Cosy

Lest we forget. The Egg Cosy. These appear to have become a much loved very chic addition to homes across the country. Our favourite time to use ours is mainly for the element of surprise on Easter day. A perfectly cooked soft boiled runny yolk… Or a luxuriously foil wrapped chocolate counterpart. Not sure which one we would rather encounter!

However you spend these glorious early spring days or the feasting of Easter, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

After a fabulous week at Hampton Court (where we were awarded ‘Best Stand‘ by Country Living Magazine!) We whizzed over to watch some tennis at Wimbledon, where our 2nd year of exclusively designed products were doing incredibly well (Fingers crossed for next year, Andy!)…
Shortly after the tennis was the Golf Open at Royal St George’s, where we designed a range of kitchen fabrics & fine bone china mugs for The Open – again, it appears to have done really well!
