Sophie Allport has launched a new limited-edition card to help raise money for the wildlife rescue charity WIRES (New South Wales Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service). WIRES mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.
The new cards were inspired by seventeen-year-old Alice Bennett, a close family friend to Sophie, who came up with the idea of helping raise funds for the charity through selling the limited-edition cards.
Alice said, “It’s so sad to know that many animals have lost their homes because of the Australian fires, after seeing the koalas being rescued, I knew we could do something to help. I’ve really enjoyed working with Sophie, and it’s amazing to know that we are doing something to help the animals.”
The wildlife rescue charity has been working tirelessly to rescue and care for the animals which have been affected by the catastrophic fires that Australia has seen over the past couple of months. The charity which began in 1985 is primarily based in New South Wales Australia, where they are responding to more than 90,000 rescues each year and receive approximately 170,000 calls.
Sophie said, “The koala was the perfect fit for the front of these cards, and we are so pleased to work with Alice and support such a great cause.”
The A6 greeting cards can be purchased at sophieallport.com for £6 per pack (pack of six), with 100% of proceeds being donated to WIRES.
