An impressive walled kitchen garden is cultivated intensively for herbs, salad vegetables and soft fruit. In summer, courgette flowers are sent daily to the kitchen to form part of one of Aaron Patterson’s favourite dishes.

  • I lived next door when Hambleton Hall first opened its doors as a hotel. We dined there periodically, our sons had summer work during school holidays, some of the staff overflow lodged in part of our house and we watched it establish itself as a very fine and elegant establishment under the skilled direction of Tim Hart. There were some very amusing and interesting guests, who often made their way to the Finches Arms for a pint…..! It would be a delight to go back all these years later and see how well Aaron has done. Unfortunately we left the area soon after his arrival.

  • I booked a stay here for my wife’s 30th. Have to say it was as an incredible experience. The hotel was stunning, the room perfect and the staff could not have been better. Excellent service and it was so nice that every staff member we passed knew the purpose of our visit and wished my wife a happy birthday. It really made it a special occasion for her. The dining experience was first class and having visited several Michelin star restaurants we still rate Hambleton as the best.
