3 Spring Trends for 2024

Spring is the perfect time to revive the home with the trends you love. It offers a chance to bring the outdoors in, add a splash of colour and create a lifestyle for living. This year, there’s a mix of new and returning trends, including bold colours, natural materials, and pretty florals.

1. Spring Florals

Adding florals to your home for spring is a trend that will never lose its appeal. There is nothing more joyful than a splash of colourful blooms to lift your home décor and mood after a long winter. Sophie’s Tulip Bedding is a quick and easy way to bring florals into your bedroom and these statement sheets are at the top of our wish list. Featuring free-flowing tulips on a pale grey background, with a soft grey stripe on the reverse, they will look fabulous with a range of colour schemes including pink, grey, white and green.

For the kitchen, our Blossom print, created by Sophie in collaboration with the National Trust will add a classic and elegant floral touch. Update your kitchen linens with a matching tea towel, apron, and double oven gloves, or why not layer with existing Sophie Allport designs for an eclectic look?

Dotting faux florals and plants around the house is another easy way to connect with nature throughout the home. Faux flowers offer ever-lasting greenery and can be repurposed for table settings and centerpieces. They’re also easy to use to create seasonal flower displays all year round. When it comes to vases – choose different shapes, sizes, and materials for interest, or why not use one of our lovely jugs?!

2. Rustic Textures

We love adding soft earthy tones to the home as they can make such an impact – offering peace and tranquillity mixed with simplicity and warmth. This season we’re introducing texture with our new Jute Rug and Jute Runner – perfect for any room in the home but we particularly like using these in high-traffic areas such as kitchens and hallways. When it comes to dining, our Langham Oval Leg Dining Table is here to make a statement. The whitewash finish of the pine creates a beautiful finish. Why not style it with a table runner to add a pop of colour?

3. All things bright and beautiful

At Sophie Allport, one of our core values has always been to recognise the importance of colour, and this is something we live by. Colourful living is set to make a comeback with bold and bright colours – from Pantone's Colour of the Year: Peach Fuzz to timeless blues and warm earth colours. From bedding, cushions and tablescapes to throws, mugs and accessories, there are lots of ways you can incorporate colourful living into the home. Don’t be afraid to layer colours with different textures, materials, and patterns - it'll add personality to any space.

  • I’m loving my mix of natural jute, sage green, pale blue and pinky red…..with a backdrop of white or cottage cream walls….it’s so perfectly balanced…..I’m also a fan of mixing gingham, floral and jaunty stripes in the above colours to add depth and contrast. Love your products and I’ve enjoyed working with you on occasion.
